What is important to us
PRAYER
From the inception of CBS in 1975, the ministry has been covered in prayer. Since then, CBS has been consistent in seeking God’s will in all things. The Promise of Scripture is that God wants to hear and answer our prayers, to increase our territory and to guide our classes and the teaching of His Word.
TRUSTING IN GOD’S PROVISION
By the authority of God’s Word, we stand on the promise that God will provide for the ministry of CBS.
Philippians 4:19 “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
EXCELLENCE
Should we bring the Word of God to our communities in any way other than with excellence? Should those walking through the door to attend our class expect anything less than committed leaders, a well-prepared teacher, a greeting of warmth, a children’s area that embraces their child? On every level Community Bible Study strives to serve God with excellence.
INTEGRITY
Our CBS leaders set the tone of personal integrity, seeking to serve with honesty, morality, kindness and grace. The organization is financially accountable, with statements available for public record.
TRANSPARENCY
We aim to live in ways that allow others to see Christ in us. The ministry of CBS exists to bring glory to God as our leaders and members seek to be transparent in their relationships with God.
SERVANT LEADERSHIP
Following the example of Jesus, CBS leaders seek to lead through serving the community.
